This 4 nights Cape Town Accommodation package in one the cities of the world, is a 4 day guided tour along the picturesque garden route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

Cape Town is one of the truly beautiful cities of the world and is a must see for any traveller to southern Africa. The city is dominated by the rugged and iconic Table Mountain around which the city has developed and with its stunning coastline, world famous vineyards and multiethnic and cosmopolitan population is a city to experience. A visit to Cape Town must also include a ferry ride and tour through the infamous prison on Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent more than 2 decades incarcerated. A former political prisoner will conduct your tour giving you an insight into their struggle and the condition they endured.

The Garden Route is one the highlights of any trip to South Africa with the range of topography, vegetation, wildlife and outdoor activities second to none and a truly breathtaking experience. Your guided tour by luxury vehicle will travel along Route 62 via Montagu and the Klein Karoo to Knysna. You will then spend 2 full days exploring the region including travelling to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of the world. Here you will tour the vast limestone Cango Caves and visit one of the large ostrich farms before travelling to the quaint coastal city of Knysna. You will also spend a day in and around beautiful Knysna including a lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve, a trailer ride to the top of Western Head and picturesque walk back through the milkwood trees. From Knysna you will travel through Tsitsikamma Forests and its spectacular road passes to the lovely coastal city of Port Elizabeth where you will spend your final night before travelling to your next destination.

Itinerary 

Day 1
On arrival at Cape Town airport you will be met by your Wild Africa Travel Company representative and transferred to your Cape Town hotel accommodation where you will check into your hotel room for your 4 night stay.

Day 2
This morning you will be collected from your hotel and taken on a half day guided tour of Table Mountain and Cape Town. You will take the cable car to the top of the mountain for a breathtaking view of the city and its surrounding coastline. Your tour will then take you to the Malay Quarter, city centre, company gardens, Castle of Good Hope and the Diamond works. At the end of your tour you will be dropped back to your hotel.

Day 3
This morning you will make your way to the V&A Waterfront for your ferry ride to Robben Island. On arrival at Robben Island you will be taken on a 45 minute guided coach tour of the island before entering the former maximum security prison for a tour with an ex political prisoner. On completion of this tour you will board your return ferry back to Cape Town.

Day 4
This morning is a chance to relax by the hotel or further explore the city of Cape Town. After lunch you will be collected and taken on a guided tour of the winelands region of the Western Cape including a walking tour of the stately colonial town of Stellenbosch. At the end of your tour you will be dropped back to your hotel.

Day 5
With our last sight of majestic Table Mountain, we wave good-bye to the 'Mother City' - Cape Town and head off to Worcester. Driving over the du Toits Kloof Pass, with stunning views over the Paarl Valley, we continue to the town of Robertson. We pass Montagu, a quaint country village, and enjoy a wine tasting en route. This is followed by a traditional South African lunch (not included) in a typical country restaurant in Barrydale. After lunch, we continue through the little Karoo traversing the Tradouw Pass. Our journey to the beautiful Knysna area continues, visiting the Diaz Museum in Mossel Bay. Arriving at the hotel where we check in and enjoy a superb dinner (not included) at one of the nearby restaurants.

Day 6
After Breakfast you take a walk to the Knysna Waterfront and embark on the Featherbed Nature Reserve ferry. On arrival we take a ‘Unimog' (tractor driven wagon) ride to the top of the Western Head. An optional hike can be taken through the indigenous Knysna forest to the restaurant area where lunch (not included) is served. Upon returning to Knysna, enjoy an interactive elephant experience. Return to the hotel via a scenic sightseeing drive in the late afternoon. Dinner (not included) is available at one of the many restaurants at the waterfront.

Day 7
Experience the stunning views of the Outeniqua Pass as we travel towards the Klein Karoo's capital - Oudtshoorn. Here we visit the Safari Ostrich Ranch for a guided tour and traditional ostrich lunch (not included). After lunch, visit the Cango Caves, where a guided tour allows us to explore the ancient stalagmites and stalactites. En route back to Knysna, visit endangered animals at the Cango Wildlife Ranch. Dinner (not included) is available at one of the many restaurants at the waterfront

Day 8
This morning we will leave from Knysna and travel the remainder of the famed Garden Route to the coastal city of Port Elizabeth. The tour will stop in Tsitsikamma National Park which lies at the foot of the Tsitsikamma Range and is cut by rivers that have carved ravines into the ancient forest. The flora varies from huge stinkwood and yellowwood trees to ferns, lilies and proteas making it a spectacular area to walk through.

Day 9
Today you will be transferred to either Port Elizabeth airport for your flight home or to your next destination in southern Africa.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is highly recommended for the Cape Town Accommodation & Garden Route to cover for irrecoverable prepaid travel costs incurred as a result of unforeseen circumstances. For example, if the passenger becomes unexpectedly ill and is unable to travel then the passenger will be able to recover the total costs of their Cape Town Accommodation & Garden Route package.

Please note every year Wild Africa Travel Company have passengers needing to cancel for many unforeseen reasons. Unfortunately Wild Africa Travel Company is helpless if the passenger has not taken out the appropriate travel insurance.

Travel Insurance is also very important for passengers on their travels as there can be situations where things may go wrong and travellers find themselves needing urgent medical assistance, help with replacing lost luggage, or assistance in making an urgent trip home.
