Itinerary

Day 1
On arrival at Windhoek airport you will be met by your Wild Africa Travel Company representative and transferred to your Windhoek hotel where you will check into your hotel room for your 1 night stay.

Day 2
This morning you will be collected from your hotel and your guided tour through northern Namibia will commence. You will travel via Gamsberg Pass towards the coast. On the drive you will see "Welwitschia mirabilis", a plant said to grow older than 1,000 years and you will travel through the region known as Moon Landscape before arriving in Namibia's most popular holiday destination, Swakopmund. With its seaside promenades, half-timbered homes and colonial era buildings, it seems that only the wind-blown sand and palm trees distinguish Swakopmund from holiday towns along Germany's North Sea & Baltic coasts.

Day 3
Today is a free day to explore the lovely city of Swakopmund. With its seaside promenades, half-timbered homes and colonial era buildings, it seems that only the wind-blown sand and palm trees distinguish Swakopmund from holiday towns along Germany's North Sea & Baltic coasts.

Day 4
After breakfast we travel north from Swakopmund to Cape Cross, home to thousands of fur seals. We will then proceed inland into the mountainous region Damaraland, passing Brandberg, Namibia's highest mountain to our lodge.

Day 5
Today we will visit Twyfelfontein, one of the most extensive galleries of rock art in Africa for a guided tour and then to a number of geological attractions including the Burnt Mountain, Organ Pipes and the Petrified Forest. We will then continue north to our lodge on the edge of Etosha National Park.

Day 6
Today is a full day of guided game viewing in Etosha National Park. In this dry landscape, Etosha's animals are dependent on the park's waterholes and natural springs and you will explore the various waterholes along this enormous salt pan, which is called the "great white place of water" in the local language. There are 114 mammal species found in the park, with several being rare and endangered such as the black rhino and the black faced impala.

Day 7
In the morning we will travel through the park from east to west undertaking game viewing on the way. In the afternoon we depart the park and travel to the serene environment of the Otavi Mountains.

Day 8
We continue travelling north to the Caprivi region stopping en-route at Hoba Meteorite. The meteorite been uncovered but, because of its large mass, has never been moved from where it fell. We continue to the Kavango area, known for its rich selection of hand-made wooden crafts, to the western border of the Bwabwatwa Game Park. Here our lodge lies secluded in the lush vegetation lining the banks of the mighty Kavango River. An optional activity is a sundowner cruise on the Kavango River that also visits the Popa Falls.

Day 9
In the morning we will enjoy a game drive in the Mahangu Game Park, home to rare animal species such as puku, lechwe, roan and sable which in turn attract a large variety of predators. We will then travel east through Bwabwata National Park, one southern Africa's birding hotspots. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure and take in the mesmerizing environment from the comfort of your lodge.

Day 10
This morning we travel through the Bwabwatwa Game Park which forms part of the age old migration route of many game species moving from Namibia to Botswana. En-route we will visit a traditional Caprivi village to learn more about the tradition and culture of these subsistence farmers, who have upheld their way of life for hundreds of years.

Day 11
Today we will travel across the border from Nambia to Botswana and proceed to your lodge on the Chobe River on the northern tier of Chobe National Park.

Day 12
An early rise this morning as you board your open 4x4 Landover for a guided morning game drive in Chobe National Park. At the completion of the drive you will return to your lodge for breakfast. After lunch you will board your boat for a cruise along the beautiful Chobe River. This is a great chance to view the abundant wildlife that uses the river to drink and cool off or as their home.

Day 13
This morning after checking out of your lodge you will be transferred across the border from Botswana to Zambia and your hotel on the doorstep of Victoria Falls. Guests of the hotel have complimentary and unlimited access to the falls and you will have the chance to spend a great deal of time witnessing its power. In the late afternoon you will be taken on a sunset cruise of the Zambezi River onboard the African Queen where drinks and snacks are included.

Day 14
This morning you have another opportunity to visit the falls before you embark on the Mukuni Village Cultural tour. You will be collected from your hotel and transferred to the village, which is home to the Leya people. This is an opportunity to see how the local people live in a working village, not one built for tourists. A member of the village will show you around and you will see how traditional huts are built and decorated, meet the residents and see the locals at work.

Day 15
Your final opportunity to see the falls before checking out of your hotel and being transferred to Livingstone airport for your flight to Johannesburg.
