A private property group has developed plans for an International airport near Etosha National Park in Namibia. Groot Property Group (Pty) Ltd has advised of its plan to increase the number of visitors to the Etosha National Park region and boost Namibia’s economic growth.

The company has commenced a feasibility study for the airport, with its construction budget estimated at approximately US$20bn, and a six-year construction period. The airport will handle direct International flights and according to the company hopes that Air Namibia will make the airport its hub in Namibia.

The property group is also in the process of developing the region of Groot, an industrial centre in Namibia with over 60 projects including a town centre, a steel mill plant, a gas-fired power plant and engineering college. They have a goal to create 500 000 direct and indirect jobs in Namibia within three years.
