Day 1: Johannesburg to Kruger National Park
This adventure accentuates an authentic African Safari experience from start to finish. Leave the city of Johannesburg before sunrise, guests travel north towards the central Kruger National Park to spend 3 days tracking the ‘Big 5’ and other species. Brunch is enjoyed in the scenic village of Haenertsburg before travelling along the striking Magoebaskloof Mountain Pass. Enter the central Kruger National Park in the afternoon. The abundant variety of birds and wildlife in this area ensures an unforgettable bushveld experience as one enters the park. Arrive at the camp in the late afternoon where guests will overnight in en suite thatched bungalows located next to the camp fence. Spend time at leisure before experiencing a traditional, interactive braai (dishes cooked on open fire). Dine under the stars around a campfire at the bungalow and be on the lookout for Hyenas as they are known to scavenge outside the fence at night.
Overnight at a Kruger National Park Satara Rest Camp or similar – Dinner and breakfast and 2 game viewing activities.

Day 2: Kruger National Park
Rise early this morning, guests head out for a sunrise safari in an open safari vehicle. Return to camp for breakfast at the restaurant. A nearby waterhole in front of the camp attracts a variety of wildlife which guests can view from the restaurant deck area or the chalet’s verandah. Guests have the opportunity to spend time at leisure at camp, or opt for a game drive in the closed vehicle to a picnic site or lookout point for lunch (own account). At 20 000 km², the park is roughly the size of the Netherlands. This area of the park is known as the Kruger Park’s ‘big cat camp’ due to a high concentration of predators. This is because of the fertile grazing land found in the area which attracts vast herds of antelope. Giraffes, Zebras, Buffalo, Warthogs and Elephants are seen fairly regularly around camp. Embark on a sunset safari, spotting wildlife from an open safari vehicle. Return to camp for dinner.
Overnight at a Kruger National Park Satara Rest Camp or similar – Dinner and breakfast and 2 game viewing activities

Day 3: Kruger National Park to Johannesburg
Embark on a morning game drive in a closed vehicle, before returning to the camp for breakfast. The tour departs for Johannesburg after breakfast offering the last game viewing opportunity en route to the park’s gate. Enjoy lunch (own account) en route. Arrive in Johannesburg late afternoon. PLEASE NOTE: It is recommended that clients do not book any flights departing before 18h00 on the last day, as travel times and stops may vary.

Satara Rest Camp

Satara is a busy camp, and not without reason. It is situated in an excellent game viewing area, with the bush relatively open and the animals plentiful and diverse.

The camp itself has a rustic charm, with the bulk of the accommodation set out in a series of circles. Satara is well wooded and the bird-life is prolific. At night the clink of fruit bats is fused with the chirping of cicadas and crickets. The calls of owls and nightjars add to the symphony that is punctuated intermittently by the whoop of hyena, the screech of jackal and the roars of lion.
